Week 4 - Change Management

Hi everyone,

Today I wanted to talk about change management. Change management is used within organizations to ensure that any software, policies, or changes are evaluated and deemed to be pushed out. While it sounds similar to quality assurance, it actually comes after to ensure that anything being reviewed has been tested. For example, a change to a piece of code within the software to fix a bug will need to go through a QA. Even if everything checks out in QA, there needs to be approved before it is released to production. This is where change management comes into play and reviews all the steps taken to ensure the release is stable. If approval is not given, the product owner will need to review the feedback before it can be reviewed again. This helps minimize downtime if some steps are missed or questions are not answered.
